Boris is a hydrogeological and geotechnical specialist with 22 years’ experience in geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical projects. He has worked in Switzerland, Bolivia, Tajikistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, U.A.E and Afghanistan. He is a recognized expert in geological and hydrogeological simulation research in complex medium, the core subject of his doctorate. He reached an expert level in the use of the software FEFLOW and in those dedicated to river engineering such as the computer code BASEMENT.

Abroad, Boris worked for GTZ in Bolivia, for Schlumberger Water Services in Qatar, MWH Global in UAE, and for Landell-Mills in Afghanistan as Consultant. In this role, he supported multiple projects in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia by providing expertise in groundwater and geotechnical assessments. He also gained expertise in construction dewatering and mining hydrogeology, and especially in the hydrogeology in arid countries. Most notably, he developed three-dimensional groundwater simulation models for three open-pits gold mines run by the Saudi gold company Ma’aden, which allowed the company to understand the water sustainability, dewatering requirements at the sites and slope stability. in Qatar, he worked on the exploratory phase of the National Aquifer Storage and Recovery Project. He is actually involved on a similar study in Afghanistan, a project founded by USAID and ADB (Asian Development Bank) and managed by Landell-Mills.
