BRUNEI BEACH WELL SYSTEMS

PURPOSES

Beach wells are usually located on the seashore in close vicinity to the ocean. These intake facilities are relatively simple to build and the seawater they collect is pretreated via slow filtration through the subsurface sand/seabed formations in the area of source water extraction. Within this context, the project aimed to:

1. To simulate two (2) beach well layouts.
2. Determine which simulated layout would be able to provide mostly 350 m³/hr with an acceptable drawdown of maximum – 4 meters.

WHAT WE DID

We enabled realistic and dependable assessment of pumping beach wells layouts to model and cross-compared two scenarios using a working 3D hydrogeological numerical model approach.
