NEOM Dewatering Environmental Impact Assessment

PURPOSES

KAUST Beacon Development (KBD) through Aquageo International Consultancy LLC has requested GeoBM Sagl to undertake 3D groundwater numerical modelling for the assessment of groundwater level and quality impact at parts of The Line and The Spine development, at NEOM, on the Red Sea Coast of Saudi Arabia, for the Lots 5 to 7.

The scope of the assessment is to prepare a groundwater model for the Phase 2 project area of the Line, in order to be able to understand the magnitude of dewatering impacts on the local environment.

WHAT WE DID

A 3D flow and mass-transport model is developed. The natural situation at the coastline is set up, with variable fluid density processes, to simulate saltwater intrusion (Density-Dependent Flow) influenced by the dewatering works at LOTS 5 to 7.
